..........Be On Time..........
You have breaks between classes. Use them wisely!

..........Be Prepared..........
Remember books, binders and writing utensils.

..........Be Respectful..........
Of yourself and of others.

..........Be Challenged..........
Remember that you are here to learn.

EXPECTATIONS OF THE COURSE

Silent Reading
Each course begins with a period of silent reading on most days. Students are expected to be prepared to read an age-appropriate novel during this time. Magazines are not permitted.

Plagiarism
Passing off someone else's work or part of someone else's work as your own is not cool. If you get caught, it's an automatic zero on the assignment. If you get caught again, it could mean failing the course! Refer to the G.C.H.S. Plagiarism Policy or to me to avoid plagiarizing!

Food & Drink
Water is permitted in class provided that it is in a bottle with the cap on when you are not drinking it

Personal Electronic Devices
The priviledge of using a personal audio (i.e. MP3 player) during personal work time will be granted at the discretion of the teacher. No cameras or cellphones are permitted to be used in class without the permission of the teacher.

Washroom Breaks
These are limited to a maximum of once per week unless a medical note is provided to the office. This prevents you from missing something important while you're out. This is at the discretion of the teacher!

Late For Class
Whether you're one second or one hour late, you're still late. Students who are late three times will be required to serve a detention. If students do not attend the detention they will be referred to the office. Therefore, keep life simple and show up!

Late Assignments
Major assignments will have clear due dates. Respect them. If something comes up, let me know in advance. If assignments are late they are kept in a folder, unmarked, and used only if your mark is below passing.
